Yesterday was a fieldtrip day for us .... Don had the day off so we decided that we would leave early in the morning and take the kids to the Royal Tyrrell Museum - we went there last year and they have wanted to go again.
When we got up, we looked out the window and saw ...... snow!!!!!!!!! Not a lot of it, and it was gone by the time we got home yesterday, but it was there. It's been a while since we have had snow this early in the year.
So, we are getting ready to go, had our breakfast, contained the pets, gathered up what we were taking for our drive (made sure we had lots of Adventure in Odyssey CD's) when I notice that Charlotte isn't looking 'well'. I asked her if she was okay and she replied "it's just a sore throat, Mom, I'm fine". I felt her forehead and she didn't feel warm .... soooooo, off we go.
It was a really great day - we noticed some new displays at the Museum .... at one point, the power flickered and shut down the big lights throughout the whole Museum (they are the ones that take a while to power back up - they're huge). Thankfully, Josh had his hat with the lights in the brim of it .... he turned them on and led us to some benches where we could wait until the lights came back on - he is still a Scout at heart, lol.
As the day went on, Charlotte's throat started hurting more and more and by the time we got home, she had a fever - she's in bed resting now ... her throat is still hurting and she has a low-grade fever. We're hoping that it isn't strep-throat .... she seems to get that quite easily.
Oh, and the Adventures in Odyssey CD's that we took were such a blessing ..... they made the hours of driving that we did seem like a lot less than it actually was. ˚Ü˚
